Weird

I’m sure it’s just a coincidence, but…

2023-08-10

The 40th Anniversary “Ultimate Telepathic E.T.” figure from NECA sure looks cool, as most of their stuff does. (Check out their surprisingly underpriced ALF figure; it’s incredible.)

He doesn’t come with quite the same the glut of accessories as ALF, but what he has is pretty sweet.

But I noticed some letters on the Speak & Spell: XWVURFP.

My ROT-13 sense was tingling, so I popped it into CyberChef.

KJIHESC.

Rats. 😐

But I kept rotating the count around until I got to what would be considered “ROT-23″…

UTSROCM.

I squinted.

No way.

Unscramble the letters to get… SCROTUM?!

Surely, this is just a coincidence. There’s so few letters, and it’s such a simple cipher that it’s probably not on purpose. Maybe it shows up in the film, and they’re just going for authenticity.

But, you know, back in the day, on the playground, we joked that he was “E.T.: The Extra Testicle”.

I’m on the fence here, honestly.

Concerning “The Goonies”

2021-06-05

Finally caught “The Goonies”. Another in a long line of films I knew 80% about but never actually sat down to watch, start to finish.

As good as expected, but I never knew about this downer ending. 😞

X-Day Countdown

2021-04-04

A couple years ago, I created an Android Wear (now “Wear OS”) watchface (on Google Play) that threw the gaze of “Bob” upon you while you read the time. If you tapped the clock, it would also show you a countdown to that magic hour of 7am on July 5th when you get whisked away just in time for the end of the world.

Wear OS sucks. But I enjoyed working on the watchface. And I wanted some exercise with Svelte. So here it is!

XDayCountdown.com!

I’m going to refine this a bit as time goes on. And I’m sure there’s some subtle (or not so subtle) bugs in there.

There’s no SECRETS yet (or are there?), but I hope to add something fun to help usher in The Moment when it comes. 😉

Source, of course, is available over here: https://github.com/Fortyseven/XDayCountdownSite/

Gangster Computer God Worldwide Secret Containment Policy

2020-09-13

I didn’t go over every word of this, but I’m fairly sure these are the reenacted insane ramblings of Francis E. Dec. Besides, the phrase “Gangster Computer God” is pretty much his THING. 😉

Francis E. Dec (January 6, 1926 – January 21, 1996) was an American lawyer and outsider writer who was best known for his typewritten diatribes that he independently mailed and published from the late 1960s onward. His works are characterized by highly accusatory and vulgar attacks on various subjects, often making use of phrases like “Mad Deadly Worldwide Communist Gangster Computer God” to slander hierarchies that he believed were engaging in electronic harassment against him.

Here’s a sample of his… work… 🤯
